Freelance Graphic Artist, May 2006 - present

  • Al Kaly Shriners: lay out a monthly 24-28 page newsletter, design ads and graphics, edit and manipulate photos, proofread and edit articles.
  • Create logos, business cards, postcards, illustrations, websites, and other designs as requested.

Technical Illustrator/Writer, Ingersoll-Rand, September 2008 – February 2009

  • Created technical illustrations for product guides, wrote and edited service manuals.

 Ad Designer, various publications, June 2008 – September 2008

  • Re-designed and created new ads in the fast-paced environment of the Colorado Springs Gazette and other publications.

 Publication Coordinator, HDR, Inc., January 2008 – May 2008

  • Assisted in development and creation of layout templates for use in guides, booklets, book covers and other publication materials; used templates to lay out manuals and books.
  • Graphic design: created graphics for use in layout designs, edited photographs and images.

  • Design: created logos, business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, and other materials on an as-needed basis.
  • Preflight and print production: Learned to use digital printers, large format printers, cutting tools, and book binding.
  • Desktop publishing: created camera-ready digital files of clients’ artwork, checked pre-production work on existing files, sent files to printing companies and followed up on orders.

 Lead Designer, The Korea Daily, May 2006 – February 2007

  • Designed unique advertisements for each client; created graphics and oversaw production of two publications while meeting printers’ deadlines; delegated workload to assistant designers.
  • Layout design: mastered a new layout design program within a week to release the daily newspaper on schedule, performed layout design for designated sections of the newspaper.
  • Interacted with clients regularly as an accomplished customer service representative; discussed and executed new designs in a timely manner according to clients’ specifications.

Newspaper News Editor, Crescenta Valley High School, September 1998 – June 2000

  • Layout design: created innovative layout designs for the newspaper using Quark Xpress.
  • Photo editing: used Photoshop to scan and manipulate images for publication.
